Kwan Hee Lee, MD, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer
Kwan Hee Lee, MD, Ph.D., is a co-founder of L&J Biosciences and is the chief technical officer. He is trained as an orthopedic surgeon with more than 20 years of experience. He obtained his MD from the prestigious Seoul National University in Korea in 1982 and a Ph.D. in orthopedic sciences from the same university in 1993. He also has been a guest researcher at the US National Institutes of Health, conducting key studies involving the therapeutic use of TGF-βs.
Dr. Lee is well-known as a worldwide leader in the field of orthopedic medicine and clinical development. He has served as the director of the Clinical Research Center of Inha University Hospital in Korea and a professor. He was a member of the Gene Therapy Committee of the Korea FDA, which has provided him with unique experience in understanding the drug evaluation and approval process in connection with genetic therapies such as cell-mediated gene technology. TG-C (Invossa), invented by him, is now in phase III clinical trial in the US and marketed in Korea.
Hojoon Jon, MS
Vice President, Public Relations
Hojoon Jon joined the team in 2020 as vice president, public relations, with broad experience in a variety of industries and holds a Master's in Communications Design from Pratt Institute, New York.
Mr. Jon is a seasoned designer and a business leader with more than 18 years of career experience in media and marketing. He has held leadership roles in corporate branding and marketing, business development, and strategy solutions. He takes pride in his ability to execute complex branding and marketing solutions in various businesses.
Ilkyu Cha, MS
Regulatory Affairs, Drug Development
Ilkyu Cha serves as a Regulatory Affairs and Drug Development Associate at M&K BioSciences. With an academic foundation in biology and food sciences, he earned a Master’s in Biotechnology from Georgetown University. He undertook graduate medical studies abroad, enriching his expertise with clinical insights into human health and disease.
Mr. Cha plays a role in shaping regulatory strategies for pharmaceutical products, ensuring global compliance through his analytical mindset and cross-disciplinary training. He is committed to advancing safe and innovative therapeutics aligned with international regulatory standards.
Jay Yoon
Business Development
Jay Yoon holds a degree in Economics from Chung-Ang University and began his career at Hanwha Group, serving on the executive secretary team to the Chairman. Since then, he has built broad cross-industry experience and has worked closely with Dr. Lee for over 25 years.
With deep institutional knowledge and long-standing global relationships, Jay plays a key role in bridging strategic collaboration between the Middle East, the United States, and South Korea.
Kyungjoon Lee
Branch Manager, M&K Biosciences Türkiye
Kyungjoon Lee is the Türkiye Branch Manager at M&K BioSciences. With a background in Information and Communication Engineering, he brings a thoughtful and grounded approach to the development of local operations, partnerships, and team-building efforts in the region.
Based in Türkiye, Kyungjoon is responsible for overseeing M&K’s on-the-ground activities and building bridges between global biotechnology initiatives and the unique opportunities within the Turkish market. His work emphasizes integrity, collaboration, and sustainable growth—values he believes are essential for long-term impact.
He is particularly passionate about creating structures that support both scientific advancement and community engagement. His leadership reflects a commitment to learning, cross-cultural cooperation, and walking patiently through the challenges of building something meaningful—step by step.
Nefise Nur ÖZGÖZ
Quality, M&K Biosciences Türkiye
Nefise Nur Özgöz works in the Quality Department and is also responsible for accounting and customer management processes. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Management and Organization. She contributes to continuous quality improvement through a data-driven, systematic approach and supports the effective execution of accounting operations through effective data tracking and reporting.
Throughout her academic and professional career, she has developed expertise in accounting, management, statistical data analysis, and market research. Combining her marketing experience, she has developed strong competencies in competitive analysis, financial planning, and B2B processes. With her analytical mindset and solution-oriented approach, she enhances operational efficiency through effective teamwork.
Bora Bertan Özçelik
Regulatory Affairs, M&K Biosciences Türkiye
Bora Bertan Özçelik serves as Regulatory Affairs at M&K Biosciences, responsible for operations in Turkey. He plays an active role in managing compliance with national and international regulations in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields, as well as overseeing customs and import procedures. He coordinates applications, approvals, customs processes, and follow-up activities with regulatory authorities and relevant institutions in Turkey, supporting the timely and smooth market entry of products.
Contributing to the alignment of regulatory and customs strategies with company objectives, Bora Bertan Özçelik works in close collaboration with clinical, logistics, and commercial teams. With a scientific approach and strong attention to detail, he adds value to M&K Biosciences’ operational continuity and growth objectives in Turkey.
Emirhan Dalay
General Manager, M&K Biosciences Türkiye
Serving as the General Manager at M&K Biosciences Türkiye, he is responsible for corporate communications, developing strategic partnerships, and strengthening the company’s organizational structure to ensure long-term sustainability and growth. He focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of operational and strategic decision-making processes by overseeing the company’s overall vision.
Throughout his professional career, he has held managerial positions in the hospitality and tourism sectors, gaining extensive experience in team management, operational process optimization, and stakeholder relationship development. He is recognized for his proactive, solution-oriented approach and his ability to act swiftly in the face of challenges. With strong sector awareness and a solid understanding of B2B processes, he contributes to the strengthening of business partnerships and supports the company’s sustainable growth.
Arzu Günel
Marketing, M&K Biosciences Türkiye
Arzu works in the Marketing department and is responsible for developing M&K Biosciences Turkey’s digital presence and marketing strategies. She monitors the progress and performance of the company’s online channels (website, homepage, etc.), conducts marketing research for new products and services, and prepares pre-sales strategies. She also carries out risk assessments prior to project launches and identifies projects’ strengths to present to management.
Currently a marketing student, Arzu completed university training in tourist guiding and gained hands-on, face-to-face experience in the tourism sector, which gives her strong skills in customer and stakeholder assessment. Skilled in data analysis and marketing strategy, she brings strong communication, a collaborative team spirit, and a solution-oriented approach — contributing to teamwork and the implementation of innovative ideas at M&K.

Myung-Whun Sung, MD, Ph.D.
Medical Doctor and Professor
Dr. Sung is a medical doctor and professor at Seoul National University Hospital. He served as a CEO at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital at Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Dr. Sung has developed a personal relationship with His Highness in RAK. He also worked with many influential people in the UAE.
Kyoung Ah Kim
Professor and CEO
Professor Kim is serving as a dean at Sookmyung Women’s University. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York and served as judge of many textile contests in Korea. SWU is a global leader in women’s education, and she established a school company named Sookmyung-I, and she is serving as the CEO of that company.
TaeJung Yun
Medical Doctor and Attorney at Law
Dr. Yun is a medical doctor and attorney at law in Korea. He graduated from Seoul National University Medical School and passed the bar examination. He served as a medical doctor and also as a prosecutor in Korea. He also served as a counsel attorney at Korean Medical Association. He is now working as a managing partner at Taeshin Lawfirm and Consulting.
